SKI RUNS

Total length 110km (Hochgurgl ski area: approx. 54 km, Obergurgl ski area: approx. 56 km):

Beginners and novice skiers are invited to ski at Gaisberg lift, Mahdstuhl lift or the practicing slope featuring a beginner's lift. More advanced skiers find a truly unique sports paradise in the Festkogl ski area in Obergurgl and along the Schermerspitze ski trail - which are both of intermediate difficulty. Real experts can conquer the steep Hohe Mut ski run in Obergurgl and the challenging mogul piste down from Top-Wurmkogl II in Hochgurgl.

TOP EXPRESS OBERGURGL-HOCHGURGL

Connecting gondola between Obergurgl and Hochgurgl:

Since the winter season 1997/98 this 8-person gondola connects the ski areas of Obergurgl and Hochgurgl within a short eight-minute ride. The 3.6km long gondola features 50 cabins and has an hourly capacity of 1,200 persons. High above Königstal and Verwalltal valley skiers can admire the stunning Alpine scenery and the surrounding glaciers while enjoying a unique ride with this panoramic gondola.

4-SEATER CHAIR LIFT

From the village center up to Festkogl ski area:
The centrally located "Roßkarbahn", a 4-seater chair lift with wind protection shields, can be found right in Obergurgl's village center. It takes skiers up to the Festkogl ski area. Premium quality skiing is guaranteed as Obergurgl-Hochgurgl have the slogan: "Skiing right to your hotel's doorstep!"

Lifts in operation:
from mid November through early May, most of the ski runs leading down to the village center are open. A free skibus shuttle service is running between the hamlets of Obergurgl.

CARD SYSTEM

All lift tickets can be used hands-free. Ski pass holders can pass the control system easily without putting the ticket into the scanner. Deposit for key cards: Euro 2. You get the money back if the pass is undamaged. Return the pass at one of the ski pass offices or Bonus Card members. Swatch Access: Euro 60

SNOW MAKING SYSTEMS

Powder snow or crunching corn snow during late spring - The 110km slopes in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl are always perfectly groomed, also thanks to the modern snow-making facilities.

Due to its high-altitude location snow is almost guaranteed in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Just to be on the safe side, more than 99 % of all slopes in both ski areas are equipped with artificial snow-making systems (since the winter season 1999/2000). Therefore, Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ranks among the top ski resorts where snow is always available in abundance. The entire snow making system is computerized. If both the temperature and the humidity are ideal, the snow making facilities start automatically. Five weather stations providing detailed information on the current conditions are spread across the ski area. The artificial snow consists of cold air and UV-irradiated and sterilized drinking water which comes from a reservoir (10,000m³) in the Gaisbergtal valley.
