SÖLDEN, 1.377 m

Sölden, the main town of the Ötztal Arena, has developed into an internationally known sports and training centre. Both professionals and leisure sportsmen are in their element here.

The upper Ötztal valley starts at approx. 1 km before you reach Sölden and includes the village of Sölden and its hamlets of Hochsölden, Sölden, Zwieselstein and Vent. The municipal district of Sölden is mostly covered with glaciers (146 km²), alpine peaks (321 km²), pasturelands, mountains and forests - only 1% of its surface is influenced and built by man.
