Also when it comes to freeriding the Diamond of the Alps deserves its fame as skiing dorado. Countless off-piste routes and slopes offer superb conditions for skiers and riders alike. Dreamlike little side valleys ensure off-piste freeriding for all ability levels – plus uninterrupted panoramic views of the stunning Alpine scenery in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. A real must for freeriding aficionados! The ski areas of Obergurgl and Hochgurgl are included in countless season ski passes like Freizeitticket, Regio Card and Tirol Snow Card.
Important: To get a quick and easy overview of the skiing terrain you can purchase a detailed Obergurgl Freeride Map at the Obergurgl tourist office. Besides the map it is absolutely required that you always check the latest snow and avalanche reports for a maximum of safety on the slopes. You are also recommended to contact the local Obergurgl Ski School or enlist a certified Obergurgl Mountain Guide. Additionally, there are 4 checkpoints (2x Festkogl, 1x Hohe Mut, 1x Wurmkogel) for your avalanche equipment – test your avalanche transceiver on a regular basis!
Have fun in the superb Obergurgl-Hochgurgl freeride area but be careful and think about your own safety and the safety of your companions.
