Erlebnispfad Zirbenwald

Stone Pine Forest Nature Theme Trail

Ötztal Tourismus is going to modernize the already existing Stone Pine Forest Nature Theme Trail in cooperation with Motas Design. The trail will be resurfaced and widened by adding themes and topics concerning the Nature Park. Walkers and hikers - especially families - can explore the Stone Pine Forest in a playful way. Newly installed Info Points provide interesting details on the forest area. In all probability the new trail will be available right in time for the 2017 summer season.

Another new highlight: A Geocaching Treasure Hunt leading along the Stone Pine Forest Loop Tour.

Hängebrücke Gurgler Ferner

Suspension Bridge

Due to high danger of falling rocks at the former brook crossing point (wooden bridge on the valley floor) and considerable water masses in the warm season, a suspension bridge was built over the ravine of Gurgler glacier – promising a quick, easy and safe crossing of the valley by connecting the hiking trail network of Hochwildehaus, Karlsruher Hütte and Ramolhaus in the most future-oriented way. Additionally, the trail to both sides of the suspension bridge was newly built by using top modern technology. The bridge can be used during the summer months from early July to late September. Safety equipment and appropriate hiking gear strongly recommended.
