Nature Park Info Point at Hohe Mut

Glacier - Climate - High Alpine Research

Explore a truly outstanding exhibition on the valley's natural history. At Hohe Mut Alm (2670 m altitude), a vantage point overlooking the majestic glaciers of Rotmoostal and Gaisbergtal, you get a deep insight into life in and on the glacier, climate change and high Alpine research deeply rooted in the history of Ötztal.

The interactive Nature Park Exhibition in two languages (EN/DE) covers 135 m², showing unique items of the high Alpine fauna and flora. Furthermore you get explanations of the colorful variety of Obergurgl's stones and the mighty glacier world made of eternal ice.

The centerpiece of the 10 multi-media activity stations is a 1.5 x 0.9 cm big multi-media panel that displays fascinating details of high Alpine research studies over many decades. Among the most sensational items ranks an approx. 3500-year old ibex horn discovered in the vicinity of Rotmoosjoch col about six years ago. It is shown for the very first time in Austria.
