Skiing fun at the heart of the Alps

Would you like to spend your ski holidays in Tirol? We have a top-notch recommendation for you! Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, or simply Gurgl, is located at about 1800 meters altitude in upper Ötztal and combines everything that belongs to a successful ski vacation. You can not only look forward to absolute snow reliability from mid-November to late April, but also to 112 varied and perfectly groomed slope kilometers.

Top Quality Skiing in Gurgl

In the Gurgl ski area, you can look forward to 112 varied slope kilometers. Whether you are a skiing beginner, a skilled winter sports enthusiast or a real piste aficionado, the area has the right slope for everyone: 36.5 kilometers are easy (blue) slopes, 55.5 kilometers are intermediate (red) pistes and approx. 20 kilometers are difficult (black) ski runs. Away from the classic slopes, Obergurgl has a whole mountain full of fun for all the family: The so-called "Funmountain Obergurgl" combines four fun facilities for families, including fun slopes and fun parks. In Hochgurgl there is another fun slope at the top station of Hochgurglbahn II, which promises skiing fun for all ages and skill levels.

Thanks to state-of-the-art mountain lifts and 6 different feeder lifts that lead straight to the ski area, waiting times are a thing of the past. In theory, all mountain lifts in Gurgl can collectively transport more than 42,000 people per hour. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the ski resort regularly receives top ratings from leading winter sports portals. Top quality skiing is not just an empty phrase in Gurgl, but is lived by the slope grooming team every day.

Gurgl, the Diamond of the Alps

It is not without reason that the mountain village with a very tasteful flair is called the “Diamond of the Alps”. Framed by majestic 3000 meter high peaks, you will quickly leave stress and everyday routine behind and feel that you are in good hands. The right accommodation is provided as well: In Gurgl you will find either small, family-run guest houses, holiday apartments or large, luxurious hotels. What most of the accommodations have in common: Many of them can be found right on the ski slope. Nothing stands in the way of skiing down to your accommodation’s front door.

Look beyond the edge of the slope

After an eventful day on the slopes, you can stop off at a quaint Alpine inn or ski hut and warm yourself up with hot tea by the fireplace. The awesome natural landscape can of course also be explored on a scenic (snowshoe) hike through the snow-covered forests around Gurgl. For example, on a walking tour across the mythical, centuries-old stone pine forest to Schönwieshütte in Rotmoostal side valley, where you can stop off. This is a perfect way how to spend your ski holidays in Tirol, too!
