The winter will pause throughout this week, especially as regards the temperatures. With strong westerly winds in the mountains a warm front will pass north of the Alps. It will provide for large cloud banks and a temperature increase. However, precipitation is no issue. Towards midweek, the milder temperatures will further increase due to an approaching southerly foehn wind in the mountains. Besides, Wednesday and Thursday introduce mostly sunny conditions. Only at the main Alpine divide, the clouds will slightly increase with a stormy southerly foehn wind on Thursday. On Friday, a cold front will introduce the end of the foehn. A persistent decrease in temperature is expected despite occasional showers. The snow line will establish again in the deep valleys throughout the weekend.
