Like many countries around the globe, Austria is affected by the coronavirus outbreak. In order to fight the coronavirus, the whole of Tirol has been isolated since 19 March. Sölden is under quarantine until 13 April 2020. Therefore the upper Ötztal Valley from Sölden onwards, is currently closed off from the outside world and accessible again via federal road from 14 April. According to a decree issued by the provincial governor Günter Platter, all 279 Tirolean villages are currently isolated until Monday, 13 April 2020. This means that it is only allowed to leave the villages when it comes to covering basic services or providing services of general interest. The local population should leave their houses only in urgent cases. What we need now is personal responsibility, solidarity and shared aims. All measures are carried out in accordance with the official authorities. The health and safety of the population, employees and guests from all over the world is a top priority. As responsible tourist experts we welcome this step. These measures help to protect the health of the population and, above all, of our guests & employees. We strongly recommend international guests to follow the measures prescribed in Austria also in their home countries.
