The Alpengasthof Feuerstein was rebuilt several years ago. With lots of extra wood in front of and in the hut, the building stands for a bit of living Ötztal tradition. Its interior skilfully bridges the gap between old and modern. The ascent takes place via the forest path from the football field in Huben. At the beginning of this runs in a pleasant slope. The last piece just before the hut brings out the last forces out of one. The descent can be done via the Legend Trail. The family-friendly forest path surprises with metal cultures up to six meters high: 14 legends were replicated from scrap metal, with life-size and amazingly lively figures. Tables explain the respective legend such as the fight of the giant, the wild Mandl or the angel wall.

Author’s recommendation

Since the entire path leads through the forest, the hike is recommended in high temperatures as well as in rainy weather.
