Highly and with much power home: After a cozy, scenic winter migration to the Schweinfurter hut, the deserved tobogganing party back into the valley makes double fun. Starting point is the parking lot Sennhof on the high plateau of Niedertai (1.550m). Directly from the car park, a wide forest path with a pleasantly smooth slope, runs alongside the Horlachbach towards the east into the valley. After about an hour you will find the Jausenstation Larstigalm (1.777m) on the right. Built in 1899, the Scheiber family has been hiking a "Marende" since 1970, as the Ötztaler say at the bretzeit. Famous are the sweet bilberry dumplings, so it is worth it. A further walk takes you to the Schweinfurter Hütte (2.034m), which is very steep on a yoke below the Sömenspitze. The mountains around the hut are the quietest of the Ötztal in winter, so the hut is a high-rise for winter hikers, tobogganists, snowshoe and ski touring enthusiasts. Easy hike, 2h, which is very good with fixed hiking boots or with snowshoes to make. Departure into the valley (on track) good for tobogganing.
