Really big eyes for all winter hikers in the rear Ötztal: the pace is excellent to admire the unspoilt beauty of the Alpine mountains and landscapes. 12 km of cleared, signposted winter walking trails lead through snow-covered stone pine forests, white meadows and along the frozen Gurgler Ache brook. Take an even deeper insight into marvelous backcountry areas on guided snowshoeing adventures.
The trail to the summit is steep and rocky but offers great views of the Wildspitze (right opposite), the village of Vent and the Ortler mountain range.
Descent via a small ridge at the other side of the summit, and down along a rope path to the snout of Rofenkar Glacier. From there, either continue to Breslauer Hütte or descend to Stableinalm.
In front of the village and at the valley station from the chair lift (payable)
