At the end of the valley, a new horizon for research, conferences and sports. The University Center Obergurgl is located at 1,940 m, five minutes from the town center, directly on the ski slope. Easy hike ideal for beginners.From the center you walk south to the end of the village. Follow the walking path to Zirben Alm. Walk to the rocky cliff (wayside cross and bench) opposite Nasenwand wall. Keep half-right towards the Alpine rose area leading uphill to Rotmoosache brooklet, a winding trail leads across marshlands and lichen areas to the breathtaking Rotmoos waterfall - nestling in the deep Rotmoosschlucht ravine. A fairly ascending route takes you to Schönwieshütte or, in norther direction, to Gaisberg.
